Quick Heal the Anti Virus company has revealed that a Trojan Malware by the name of “Android.banker.A9480” is capable to steal sensitive data from your banking App. This is as per report of International Business Times. The Malware is capable to steal data like your login data, contact list and more sensitive data and upload to a malicious server and made available to cybercriminals.
It is stated that more than 200 banking apps have been affected by this fatal malware which includes prominent banking app like iMobile by ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank Mobilebanking LITE, SBI (State Bank of India) Anywhere Personal, IBDI Bank mpassbook, Union Bank Mobile Banking including others.
Quick Heal security report says that the “Android.banker.A9480” trojan, also targets crytocurrency apps on the phone. The Trojan disguises as a fake flash player app and once installed sends numerous pop-ups to gain administrative privileges.
The Malware shows fake notifications on behalf of bank app and when user clicks the fake login screen to enter net banking username and password. The malware after getting administrative rights can upload contact list, gain accessibility and GPS permissions and more. Quick heal also found that besides banking apps other popular apps like eBay, Western Union, Airbnb, Amazon are equally prone to malware attacks.
Therefore do not install apps unless you are very sure. if you see strange activity on your phone, seek a security update, anti virus or reinstall your software again, before it is late. Your banking data reaching wrong hands can bring you enormous problems, so you need to be alert and careful.
